Title: Dental characteristics affinities of the prehistoric to modern Japanese with the East Asians, American natives and Australo-Melanesians
Date: 1995
Source: Anthropological Science
Notes: population history of Japan indicates that Jomon sundadonts were succeeded by Yayoi Sinodonts. Jomon and "neolithic Thai" show statistical affinity. Argues that tooth size proportions and frequencies of some non-metrics are better evaluators for phylogenetic relationships that overall tooth size, which may be affected by cultural, nutritional, and environmental factors.
