Abstract: English sumary on page 46 as follows: From examining the burned rice grains at Dong Dau site in 1984, the author draws the following remarks: 1. The layer of the Phung Nguyen period holds 10 grains of non - glutinous rice, one grain of long- large type like upland glutinous rice. 2. In the transitive layer from Phung Nguyen period to Dong Dau period in the typical Dong Dau layer (1,2m-1,5m deep) there remained almost non - glutinous rice grains of short - slender type. In there layers began to appear glutinous rice grains of long - large and short - large round types. 3. In the layer of late Dong Dau period (1,2m deep) beside non - glutinous rice (long - slender and short - slender types) 2 glutinous rice grains of short - large and long - large types have been found. 4. In the layer of Go Mun period (0,6m deep) beside non - glutinous rice of long - slender and short - slender types still lay 2 glutinous rice grains. Besides in the Dong Dau period, the settlers here might have begun to cultivate the winter rice.
