Abstract: English summary on page 103 as follows: From the study of 100 samples of end-tiles collected from the excavation at Tra Kieu (Quang Nam), Co Luy (Quang Ngai) and the ancient capital at Simahpura (Quang Namprov.), it is likely to define the main function of artifacts, i.e for decorating the edge of the roofs of construction, cosisting of 2 parts: the round surface often finely decorated with the motifs of masks, animal faces, flower petals... and the piled body which is halfly slanted, concaved with a hole for bolting. Based on the distribution of the end - tiles in the culture layers, the 14C dates the characteristics of the decorations and the influence of Chinese, Indian and Viet cultures to the Cahampa culture..., it is likely to define the dates of the end-tiles which are from the 5th to the 10th centuries in general. In particular, the end - tiles of Binh Dinh and Phu Yen are later dated, from the 12th to 15th centuries.
