Abstract:	Geoarchaeological investigations were carried out in order to reconstruct the stratigraphic and environmental context at Champassak sites. Geological and geomorphological outlines as well as stratigraphical and pedological features were determined in the field. A fairly clear picture of the general morphogenetic and pedogenetic processes in the region were obtained. However, many problems in the paleohydrographic fields remain unresolved.
