Abstract: | Recent discoveries and surveys of sites at Sitihawa and its surroundings, along the eastern coast of Jambi province, have yielded considerable archaeological evidence from the 12th to 14th centuries A.D. This proves the existence there of dense human settlements, in direct relationship with both China and India. It also disproves the early theory that placed the coastline much farther inland than its present location. |
