Abstract: A small collection of Indonesian gold objects from the site of Kota Cina were examined. The objects comprised fragments of foil, wire, ring, beads and ingot. A wide range of analytical techniques were employed to examine composition and fabrication of the material. Physical examination was undertaken using optical and scanning electron microscopy. Chemical analyses were carried out using atomic absorption spectrophotometry, specific gravity and electron probe microanalysis. Results have been presented in terms of the composition of the material and of the possible manufacturing techniques employed.
