Based on the data of French scholars and her own study on collection of the artifacts of the Hoa Binh culture and the late Neolithic - early Bronze Age in the mountainous area of Quang Binh province, the author presents some remarks. The collection of the artifacts of the Hoa Binh culture from Yen Lac, Kim Bang, Duc Thi and Xom Tham sites revealed the amorphous characteristic, the rudeness of material, shape as well as the technique of tool manufacture. In these sites, the typical pebble tools of the Hoa Binh culture were absent. The sites Minh Cam, Hang Rao, Khe Tong and the upper layer of Xom Tham formed a local cultural variant of the mountaineous area of the Bau Tro culture.
