Abstract: The anatomical study of the calavaria of the human specimen of Liang Bua is the opportunity to undertake a cladistic analysis to bring evidence of its taxonomical position and to contribute to discuss its phylogenetic story. As an alternative to the opinions that swing between Homo floresiensis and a pathological case of Homo sapiens sapiens, the phylogenetic analysis provide the possible occurrence of a short Homo erectus.
