Abstract: The present study focuses on the iron objects from the 53 graves excavated during the 1981-1982 and 1984-1985 seasons at Ban Don Ta Phet, a protohistoric cemetery in West Central Thailand. In the course of these excavations, over 1,000 iron objects were recorded, including 350 iron tools and weapons, which were in a very good state of preservation and readily identifiable. X-radiography, metallographic observations, analyses of grain size, and hardness determinations have been employed to document fabrication techniques.
