Abstract: The arranged-stone works for water exploitation in Quang Tri province were first studied by M. Colani in the late 1930, and then discussed among many Vietnamese and foreign scholars in the recent decades, but their point of views about the dates and the masters of these sites were controversial. In general, these works for water-expoitation have similar structures. They consist of the system of 2-3 wells (normally 3 wells) linked together and each well has different function (one for obtaining water, one for keeping water for activities, and one for draining water to the fields for farming). The author had some test dig of the wells. The artifacts obtained were mainly pottery, earthenware and some porcelain sherds. From the comparison between these artifacts and the other ones of some Champa sites in Quang Tri and Tra Kieu (Quang Nam - Da Nang) and the consultation on the ancient writing records, the author states that these works were built by Champa people from the 7th to the 12th centuries.
