Cet article revient sur un matériau de recherche rassemblé et utilisé initialement dans le cadre d’un travail d’histoire orale. À partir d’une perspective de sociologie de la mémoire, il analyse pourquoi et comment les anciens internés des camps annexes de Drancy dans Paris n’ont que rarement fait le récit de leur internement aussi bien au sein de leur famille que publiquement. Dans la suite des travaux de Maurice Halbwachs, il étudie le rôle des liens aux milieux collectifs et l’évolution de ceux-ci à travers le temps dans l’expression des souvenirs par les individus concernés.
