Abstract: In the beginning of 1935, a party of geologists was sent by Dr. W. H. Wong, Director of the Geological Survey, in order to survey the Cenozoic formations of Kwangsi. The party, including P. Teilhard de Chardin, Dr. C. Young and the author, was met in Canton and greatly assisted in the field by Dr H. C. Chang, Professor at the Sunyatsen Umversity (Canton). One of the results of our observations was to ascertain the presence in the Kwangsi caves of a very definite type of cultural deposits, clearly traceable all over the karstic areas of the province. A summary of the stratigraphical conditions observed in the caves is to be found in another paper, published in the same Bulletin. Here we shall only deal with the description of the artifacts collected by us in the course of our short investigations. I am greatly indebted to Prof. H. Breuil for the valuable suggestions he gave me in the writing of the present note.
