The article presents the results of the investigation and excavation of the site area of the ancient capital Hoa Lu from January 1998 to March 1998. In 73 tested pits and 2 excavated pits at the south parts of the King Le's temple area, inside the temple and Bai Hoi were found remains of 8 architectural foundations and one part of brick wall. Among thousands of terracotta and pottery were remarkable artifacts found for the first time such as sacred animal heads, dragon heads, lotus pedestal, flat leaf-shaped tiles, lotus-shaped tiles, trade chinese ceramics, earthenwares, coarse pottery . . . all have dated from the Ding-Le dynasties (the late 10th century - early 11th century), contributing important to the study of the ancient capital Hoa Lu, the history and culture of Vietnam in the 10th century and early 11th century.
