Title: Fossil mammals from the Kwangsi caves
Date: 1935
Source: Bulletin of the Geological Society of China
Abstract: The geological observation made in the Kwangsi Caves by P. Teilhard de Chardin, Drs. C. C. Young, H. C. Chang and the author, and the description of the cultural remains collected in these caves have been published in two separate notes. This paper only deals with the description of a small collection of mammalian remains from the same localities. The Shells will be studied later by Mr. M. N. Bien, who is now undertaking a revision of the Cenozoic Mollusks of China. In addition to the specimens collected in situ by us we. shall describe here a number of fossil teeth bought in drug stores both in Nanning and Wuming. These pieces arc clearly derived from two kinds of sediments which correspond exactly to that observed by us in situ in the Kwangsi Caves. They even have the same character of fossilisation, and obviously belong to the same fauna. Concerning the geological data of the present collection the reader is referred to the publication "On the Cenozoic formations of Kwangsi and Kwangtung".
