Abstract: The majority of adzes from Khao Sam Kaeo have quadrangular cross-sections and this may reflect the exploitation of bedded stone raw materials being used in their manufacture
however, further research into raw material sourcing and adze manufacture would be required to confirm this hypothesis. The adzes from Khao Sam Kaeo and other parts of Peninsular Thailand are more elaborate and varied in form than other parts of the country, this may be due to a great abundance and availability of raw materials in this region and/or reflective of cross-cultural interactions occurring in Peninsular Thailand.
